Option 1: Traffic goes directly to the nodes.#

The default operating mode, as originally designed.
Downsides:
Your domains will share a single IP and can be found through spy services
An attacker can launch an attack (but the backend will survive)
Option 2: Through CloudFlare#

Downsides:
- Cloudflare can cause unexpected problems
Upsides:
Domains will be under Cloudflare’s cloud protection
Automatic CDN
Abuse complaints will hit the node, not the backend
Option 3: Through PrivateFlare NS servers#
You can point domains to our NS servers (ns1.privateflare.com, ns2.privateflare.com) and manage DNS records from the panel.
Upsides:
- Full DNS control from a single interface
- GeoDNS — different IPs for different countries/continents
- Fast change propagation (seconds, not minutes)
- No third-party DNS provider needed
