Option 1: Traffic goes directly to the nodes.#

The default operating mode, as originally designed.

Downsides:

Your domains will share a single IP and can be found through spy services
An attacker can launch an attack (but the backend will survive)

Option 2: Through CloudFlare#

Downsides:

Cloudflare can cause unexpected problems

Upsides:

Domains will be under Cloudflare’s cloud protection
Automatic CDN
Abuse complaints will hit the node, not the backend

I’ve heard this question many times. But each time — with a different ending. Let’s go through the most common ones.

“…if there’s CloudFlare?”#

Yes, a fair question, but only for less experienced affiliates. BUT!

CloudFlare and Google became official partners quite some time ago (proof). So technically — there is no guarantee that Google doesn’t have access to the REAL IPs of servers hidden behind CloudFlare. On top of that, based on feedback from media buyers across different verticals, running traffic on domains behind CloudFlare in recent years has been an almost guaranteed ban. Whether it’s because of a “dirty” backend (we don’t change the tracker server every day, right?) or the very fact of using CloudFlare — unclear. But it’s a fact.

Step-by-step guide: from registration to a working domain in 10 minutes.

How It Works#

Before you begin, it’s important to understand the basic setup. PrivateFlare is a reverse proxy. It accepts your visitors’ traffic and forwards it to your server (backend), hiding its real IP.

The setup is simple:

Visitor → Your domain → PrivateFlare node → Your backend (server)

Three elements are involved in this chain:

Backend	Your real server — tracker, landing page, CMS. We hide its IP.
Node	A VPS with the PrivateFlare client installed. Accepts traffic, filters it, proxies it to the backend. There can be multiple nodes.
Domain	Your domain. DNS points to the node’s IP, not the backend’s.

A visitor goes to your domain, reaches the node, the node forwards the request to the backend and returns the response. The visitor never learns the real IP of your server.

Before You Begin#

Updating NS records can take a considerable amount of time. For the fastest setup, we recommend setting the node’s IP in the A records at your registrar IN ADVANCE.

For example, you have a backend (tracker) with IP xx.xx.xx.xx and you rented a node VPS with IP yy.yy.yy.yy. In that case, the A record should contain IP yy.yy.yy.yy, and the domain properties should have backend xx.xx.xx.xx.

Own NS Servers#

PrivateFlare provides its own DNS servers:

ns1.privateflare.com
ns2.privateflare.com

You can point your domains to our nameservers at your registrar and manage all DNS records directly from the control panel.

Supported Record Types#

AAAA	IPv6 address
CNAME	Domain alias
MX	Mail server
TXT	Text record (SPF, DKIM, etc.)
NS	Zone delegation
SOA	Start of authority
SRV	Service record

GeoDNS#

The key feature of the DNS service is geographic routing (GeoDNS). For a single domain, you can configure different IP addresses for different countries or continents.

Billing#

The service charges based on the number of simultaneously active domains in your account (slots). You can see your limit in the control panel.

The subscription fee is deducted daily in equal amounts of 1/30 of your plan cost.

The number of nodes (VPS) is unlimited.

Top Up Balance#

You can top up your balance through the control panel.

When navigating to this section, the wizard will be launched automatically. To manually create a new invoice, click the green button in the upper right corner.

Domain Monitoring and Notifications

Experimental feature! There may be false positive triggers. We apologize — we are working hard on the service. In case of any issues, please report them to support.

How It Works#

All your ONLINE domains are checked for availability every 5 minutes. In case of unavailability, the check frequency increases to every minute.

When a domain is available, the response time is recorded. This allows you to evaluate the stability of your node’s hosting.

Notifications: Telegram and Webhook#

PrivateFlare can notify you about domain and node status changes in two ways:

via Telegram — a simple notification in a chat;
via Webhook — a flexible automation tool that lets you trigger your own logic on events.

Webhook#

A webhook is an HTTP GET request that PrivateFlare sends to your URL when a domain or node status changes.

On your end, you can implement any response: switching nodes, restarting a service, updating a DNS record, and so on.

A: It’s like Cloudflare, but on your own equipment. You install our software on your VPS servers (nodes), and all traffic passes through them — protecting your main server. We do not see or store your traffic.

Q: What plans are available?#

A: Plans are determined by the number of simultaneously active domains (slots):

100 domains — $15/mo
300 domains — $30/mo
Unlimited — $135/mo

The number of nodes (servers) is unlimited on any plan. Billing is charged daily at 1/30 of the plan cost.
